Discover the region
Deshaies is a small, calm and authentic village with a nonchalant atmosphere that invites you to stroll in the evening while savoring a ti punch on the terrace of one of the restaurants that line the main street permitting you to perhaps capture the illusif green sunset over the bay.
The bay of Deshaies, once the shelter of privateers and freebooters, is one of the deepest and most protected on the Caribbean coast but also one of the most popular for anchoring many prestigious boats.
The village is 1.5 km downhill from the cottage so a vehicle is recommended.
The beach of Grande Anse is 2.5 km from the cottage and is renowned as one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe. Its turquoise water and red sand will seduce you for sure, while its many coconut trees will protect you from the heat of the sun and its many "lolos" (or beach restaurants) will delight your taste buds.
Leroux beach, also 2.5 km from the cottage, is smaller and more intimate, which is what makes it so charming.
Not to mention the beaches of Petite Anse, La Perle or Rifflet, in short, you will be spoiled for choice to enjoy the Caribbean Sea!
Starting point for many activities, you will have plenty of time to discover the beauties of the "Basse-Terre" from Deshaies:

Thrill seekers will find what they are looking for in jet ski or 4x4 trips, while heritage lovers can get off the beaten track accompanied by a guide.
